THE WINES
Bernd Mayländer comes from Swabian Schorndorf in the Remstal near Stuttgart and still lives 2 towns away in Plüderhausen with his wife, his two boys, horse, dog and cats. The family man is what you call home-loving and down-to-earth.
This is also noticeable in his wines, which are produced in close cooperation with the young winemaker of the year of the region, Daniel Kuhnle from the Kuhnle winery inStockelbach were developed with great care and passion. And you can taste it in every drop.

THE HISTORY
"Well, I've seen enough bottles in my life," says the man who stands for safety in Formula 1 like no other, and grins mischievously.
Bernd Mayländer has been a racing driver in racing series such as the Porsche Cup and the DTM for over 30 years and has also been largely responsible for the safety of Formula 1 drivers with his safety car on the world's racetracks for over 20 years.
Before petrol got the upper hand in his blood, the native Schorndorfer completed a classic apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in the parental CocaCola bottling company in Urbach, Swabia, which also owned the mineral water brand URBACHER, and in Karlsruhe, Baden. Urbacher was originally called HERMINEN QUELLE, named after his maternal grandmother.
There were also a large number of hectares of vineyards in Schorndorf, where mainly Trollinger and Riesling were grown and many thousands of liters of red and white wines were pressed from them. The viticulture was a hobby project of his grandfather and uncle, which was operated with a lot of love in the truest sense of the word. The age of the gentlemen eventually took its toll, the successors were still too young or too busy in the big CocaCola and Urbacher business, so that gradually a large part of the vineyards were sold. Today only a few are owned by the Mayländer family and leased on a long-term basis.

The fact that he "...saw enough bottles..." from an early age makes sense now that he's a rogue who thought otherwise.
Nature has always appealed to Bernd Mayländer. His big dream is an expedition to the Arctic, to climb one of the 8 thousand peaks or to sail the Amazon and the oceans. Since this will hardly be possible in the foreseeable future due to his stressful job in racing and in Formula 1, he still has his home and haven of peace in the beautiful Remstal with all the nature, hiking trails and many vineyards. And of course he also appreciates the many good restaurants, regardless of whether they are home-style, at star level or in brooms. That's why he never left the Remstal and didn't follow many of his fellow racing drivers to countries like Switzerland. As a father of 2 boys in the meantime, he loves being down-to-earth all the more and therefore takes on the higher tax burdens, like millions of other Germans.
He has always supported social projects such as the Nelson Mandela Foundation, but also smaller regional ones and initiated the "Safety Cars for Safety Kids" project on the subject of road safety education. He still supports selected projects and contributes his social skills. One of them is the "BesaHorschdle" donation project of his manager/business partner Horst Zwipp. The "BesaHorschdle" donation project was launched in 2018 and donates at least 10% of all wines and other products to small and large aid projects for CHILDREN in the Rems-Murr district. In the meantime, several thousand euros have already been used to help.
Through his active support, the long-hidden desire for his own wine - in the tradition of his family - was uncovered again.
